I feel that if you are looking back, you cannot move forward. Sure there is time to reflect, but don’t spend too much time doing it. I was going to write about our 2016 in review, but I realized that doesn’t help you. Although, I would like to reflect on this past year, give homage to it and a lot of great people.
2016 allowed MADE Strength and Conditioning to grow and expand beyond all of our expectations. We grew our current facility, located in Pennsylvania, to the point we are nearing capacity. Most excitingly, we expanded by opening a new facility located in New Jersey. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this was going to be possible. We started out by renting a 600 square foot space from another gym and now we have opened multiple units. This would not have been possible without some great and important people in our lives.
I have to thank the tremendous amount of athletes that allow us to work with and help them achieve their goals and dreams. Seeing this happen on a daily basis is one of life’s greatest achievements. We have to thank our loved ones, families, and friends that support us all the time and are constantly rooting for us. We want to thank our mentors, both in the performance training world, as well as our many business mentors. A few of these business mentors have helped me and pushed me to places I never thought would be possible.
**A very personal thank you to my wife and children who support my long days and absence from home. This is not a complaint nor a regret, just a thank you reflection. We wouldn’t change anything.
I have to give the biggest “Thank You” to my staff. Absolutely none of this would be possible without them. If you surround yourself with the right people, good things will happen. I am a product of that.
2016 has been an insanely productive year, and we are excited to see what 2017 has to offer us. Our work ethic changes in a sense that we will go even harder, as I hope you do the same and walk with us through the next 365 days.
Like I said, this whole article could be a more in depth look at 2016, but enough reflection. If we look back too long, we are bound to run into something. It’s time to look into the New Year with great aspirations and a huge imagination.
We are planning a big year ahead: new team contracts, new facilities, new programs, and all of the continued support that we can give to you. 2017 is the year of “YOU”! MADE Strength will be offering the following programs in 2017, which will make your gym/training experience unlike anywhere else:
Our niche will always be working with athletes whom are looking to improve their performance. We help them gain speed, strength, mobility, flexibility, coordination and all of the tools necessary to become great athletes. This is our Athlete Performance Program. We work with athletes of all levels and each athlete is put through an assessment and strategy session, which allows us to design an individualized program based on the athlete’s needs and wants. Unlike one size fits all programs from most facilities, we take an individual approach. This has worked best for our athletes.
We started an Athletic Development Program designed for Ages 8-11. This program helps younger kids learn proper running form, body positioning, body control, acceleration & deceleration, change of direction and overall coordination. Kids at these particular ages are most impressionable and can make significant changes in their athleticism. The program is structured to be a fun learning environment to not only make these young children gain athleticism, but more importantly to help instill confidence.
MADE Fit & Strong
MADE Fit & Strong Training is something we started with the adult population in mind. We see so many adults struggle with weight loss, injuries, aches & pains and we want to help with this. The MADE Fit & Strong Program is formatted to help with mobility/flexibility, overall strength and fitness gains, and most importantly, to move well again and get rid of those nagging aches and pains. This is not a traditional boot camp program designed to beat you down and leave you in a puddle of sweat. MADE Fit & Strong is designed to help you meet your goals in a safe and effective way along with making you feel great.
We build programs with everyone in mind. These training sessions are in a group format, but they will still be individualized and tailored for your needs and goals. When you join MFS Training you will get support with training and coaching, as well as, nutrition advice and access to our private Facebook group that will provide even more in depth consultation. Our main priority is to help you feel better, move better, and achieve all of your goals.
Chalk the F#%K Up
Another Program we added is not for the faint at heart. It’s called “Chalk the F#*k Up!” This program meets every Saturday morning and is truly a hardcore training session. It is ran by straight Meatheads (and I mean that in the most endearing way possible). These sessions are based on powerlifting principles. Basically, the goal is to PR a lift, eat a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich and go home. Like I said, it is not for the faint of heart. It is a great way to learn from years of experience, gain a lot of knowledge, give some fist bumps, and kick some ass at 8 o’clock on Saturday morning.
